Leader in Me - Wildly Important Goal (WIG)
In September our students set their own wildly important (WIG) monthly reading goal. Each month they strive to reach that goal. If they meet their goal they are rewarded with a fun activity at the end of that month. In September 50% of our students reached their goal, October 59% and in November 66%. We are happy to report that each month the percentage has gone up and are anxiously waiting to hear our December percentage. As a school we are working towards reaching a monthly reading goal of 80%.
Thank You, Gooding Rotary Club
Our third grade teachers and students would like to thank the Gooding Rotary Club for donating, “A Student’s Dictionary” to each of our third grade students. The students were very excited to get a dictionary and quickly put them to good use.
Extended School Day
In the past our extended school day ended after Spring break. However, this year we received additional funding and will continue our 4:00 p.m. extended day until the end of the school year.
Thank You
We would like to send a special thank you to Mayda Hatfield for taking Christmas pictures of all our students.
What is "The Leader in Me?"
The Leader in Me helps students learn how to become self-reliant, take initiative, plan ahead, set and track goals, do their homework, prioritize their time, manage their emotions, be considerate of others, express their viewpoint persuasively, resolve conflicts, find creative solutions, value differences, and live a balanced life. The process helps students develop the skills and self-confidence they need to lead their lives and succeed in school and beyond.
